Thanks for visiting our new site!

Welcome to BBH,! My name is Thea, and I am a proud resident of Larchmont, New York.

I grew up in a tight-knit, Southern community in which everyone not only knew each other, but also everyone's parents, pets, and even shopping preferences. (Seriously, when it came to planning my 300-person black tie wedding, I think my mother made about 4 short phone calls and it was done.) Throughout my childhood, supporting local vendors wasn't an afterthought; it was de rigueur.

But in this day and age, buying online is just too convenient. I am a passionate advocate for shopping small, but let's be honest: I have a tight relationship with our UPS delivery person. I can't deny it! I work full-time and have two young children, so perusing local boutiques between the hours of 10am-5pm doesn't really fit my lifestyle.

Then a couple of years ago, my job shifted and allowed me to work out of a local Larchmont office several days per week. Being around on weekdays allowed me to become a more involved Larchmont resident. I could buy birthday gifts in person, frequent restaurants I had completely overlooked when I was commuting, and even book services around town. But while I felt better about my own changing habits, my location opened my eyes to the struggles of local business owners.

Real talk: Larchmont (at least the version I know) is a town of young families. Parents work in the city or stay home with not-yet-school-age kids, so most shopping happens after hours. We conduct our lives online. For better or worse, it's where we get our news, catch up with friends, entertain ourselves, and yes, shop. (I read an article recently comparing brick-and-mortar stores to museums...we sometimes like to look around, but Millenials buy online.)

So how are local businesses supposed to survive? We all love them for the character and charm they bring to our how to help them out? I think adaptation is the answer. Enter BBH: a 24/7 local online shopping destination.

Now you can browse best-sellers from local boutiques on your time. Buy online at 8am or 10pm to get your shopping done. The site is designed to auto-notify shop owners when you order, and then they will contact you (hopefully via email or text) asap to coordinate gift wrap, pick-up, and/or in most cases, local delivery. We're starting in Larchmont, but will expand soon.

That's it. Shopping locally shouldn't feel like an imposition. We want to make it as convenient as Amazon. We may not have drones and lockers, but if we can fulfill orders with text exchanges and same-day deliveries, that's not half bad.

We hope you will give our new shopping platform a chance. It may take us a few weeks to work out the kinks, but we will get there because we LOVE LARCHMONT.

Thanks for your support, and Happy Holidays.
